Ed Eddy & Residivis has been known as a band with their songs inspired by daily happenings. Their debut album, “Lagu Kita Orang Indonesia“, was finally released in April 2008.

Two of their songs, “Kronologi Pistol & Amunisi” (The Chronology of Pistol and Ammunition), which is about the reckless use of firearms, and “Anjing” (literally translated as dogs), their most controversial song about cops mistaken as street thugs, displeased the police and made Ed Eddy and his “partner-in-crime”, Igo, being sued. Both of them had to face a long drawn battle in court. Although Eddy and Igo always stated that the songs were not meant to insult the police, that they didn’t call the police as dogs, or use swearing word like ‘doggone it!’ or maybe ‘damn!’ for the police, the way they sing could carry various interpretations. As the result, judges found them guilty and sentenced them with a one year probation despite the trial drew protest from supporters of right to freedom of speech in Bali.

This concert, entitled ‘Aku Tak Sedih‘ (I’m Not Sad) will be the band’s farewell concert as the lead singer, Ed Eddy, will leave for Australia for good. Here Ed Eddy & Residivis will be featuring three other bands: de Buntu, Day After The Rain, and Dilla.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

13 October 2009

END POVERTY: STAND-UP AND TAKE ACTION TOGETHER WITH THE WORLD

Denpasar, 10 October 2009 – On 16-18 October 2009, Stand-up and Take Action Campaign in Bali will invite at least 500 civilians to strengthen the community initiative towards government’s commitment in achieving Millennium Development Goals – MDGs. In conjunction with world food security day on 17 October 2009 several activities will be held during the 2 days campaign – using Lapangan Puputan Badung and the front part of Museum Bali as the centre of activities – including reading of the pledge to end poverty, which also will be part of the effort to break the Guinness World Record for the biggest mass mobilization.

Initiated by Alase Bali (Aliansi LSM & Elemen Masyarakat sipil Se-Bali), collaboration of many NGOs and civil community/elements in Bali, on 18 October 2009 from morning till evening at Lapangan Puputan Badung and the front part of Museum Bali, there will be MDGs services exhibition, subsidized food market, street art, music concert, free healthcare services, cartoon exhibition, and poster exhibition at ARt Gallery Ubud on 16 October 2009.

The main event, standing up together is scheduled to be held at 5:30 P.M. with reading of the pledge, followed by the Denpasar Major’s response to government’s service towards MDGs. From the latter it is expected to foster relations between MDGs stakeholders, the government, private sector and the civil society by smoothing the way up to community services which will become more effective and giving more benefit to poverty in Bali. In general, the mobilization is a message to world leaders that millions of people have stood-up and requested to end poverty and that their commitment to the MDGs should become their political priority.

This event is one of the thousand events held all over the world as part of Stand-up, Take Action, End Poverty Now – SUTA Campaign. People in the world are calling the world leaders to keep the promises made in 2000 to achieve the Millenium Development Goals. MDGs declaration also has 8 goals in response to the world main development challenges, all to be achieved by 2015, they are: eradicate extreme poverty & hunger; achieve universal primary education; promote gender equality and empower women; reduce child mortality; improve maternal health; combat HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases; ensure environmental sustainability; and develop a Global Partnership for Development.

Last year in 2008, more than 116 million people – almost two percent of the world population – Stand-Up and Take Action in the campaign coordinated by the UN Millenium Campaign and Global Call to Action Against Poverty (GCAP) together with a range of partners, breaking Guinness World Record for the biggest mass mobilization in history.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

19 October 2009

MORE THAN FOUR THOUSAND PEOPLE PLEDGING TO END POVERTY AT PUPUTAN

Denpasar, 18 October 2009 – From the early estimation of 500, this afternoon at 5:30 P.M. at Lapangan Puputan Badung, about more than 4000 people gathered, stood-up in the reading of the pledge to end poverty in Stand-up and Take Action – SUTA Campaign. Apart from the civil society of all classes, the Vice Major of Denpasar, the Regional Secretary of Bali Province dan representative of the Provincial Legislative Assembly, too, mingled and showed their enthusiasm in this activity.

The 2000 white rubber bands supply used to count the number of people were not enough, even about the same amount of people did not wear any. Nevertheless, the spirit was still on fire and the people seemed to enjoy the night of music by Bali’s indie bands. Tonight, report on the number of people standing-up has been sent to later be counted all over the world, to find out whether this year, SUTA can break the Guinness World Record for the biggest mass mobilization, breaking its own record last year, that was 116 million.

The poster exhibition which was earlier planned to be held on 16 October, has to be cancelled and moved to the front part of Bali Museum instead, together with the rest, including an additional event, MDGs discussion taking the theme of poverty with one of the speakers from the Provincial Legislative Assembly, Sumiati. Tents of MDGs services, subsidized food market, free healthcare services, cartoon exhibition, as well as street art – which seemed to interest the children the most, since they could express themselves freely – colored the driveway. This event, which was coordinated by Alase Bali working together with several organizations and the community elements in Bali, supported by the UNDP and the Government of Denpasar Municipality, has been successfully conducted. From here, it is expected that the world leaders can see and be reminded of their promises to achieve MDGs by 2015.

He is a living sample of the youth, who has a strong vision of his homeland, Bali, particularly, in terms of the environment. We are so proud to have a Balinese like him. This farewell party was made to send him off with a spirit of brotherhood & sisterhood.

We started with this very funny, sarcastic movie from Sacha Baron Cohen, who is more famous as Ali G, or Borat entitled BARON. You should see this movie, it’s hilarious!!

As the choice of the rest of the movies were up to the crowd, after several tries, we finally came up with a melancholy movie – almost shed us tears (thank God it was dark), AUGUST RUSH.

We had a good, simple, yet touching fraternities & sororities party.

Perlahan, dibukanya satu per satu kancing blusnya hingga akhirnya ia terbebas dari kungkungan. Setelah penutup dadanya tanggal, berahinya pun meledak tak terkendali.

Gara-gara menulis buku bertajuk NKRI Bukan Tuhan, sang ayah diculik. Hingga Betina menjadi perempuan dewasa, sang ayah tak pernah diketahui rimbanya.

Setelah kehilangan kasih sayang seorang ayah, Betina sekaligus kehilangan ibunya.
